Yet my own health suffered for many years, and I struggled with my weight. I was working with world-class athletes, helping them become superstars, but wasn't properly applying to my own situation everything I knew about diet and nutrition.
A picture is worth a thousand words. Here is what I looked like last year because of neglect and indifference:
Yes, this is an embarrassing photo for me to display publicly, but this is what I looked like after decades of neglecting my body. If I worked in an office on a computer all day like many people, there's a good chance I would have had a massive heart attack already, possibly even dead and buried. And as bad as I looked then, I felt even worse.
Even though I had been a professional boxing trainer, my weight had gotten way out of control.

The above photo was taken when former Light Heavyweight contender "Diamond" Jim MacDonald and I were in Atlantic City for his main event fight televised on the B.E.T.
Network.
That was 1990, five years after MacDonald had fought Spinks for the Light Heavyweight world championship. In the above photo I'm 41 years of age. Notice how fat and unhealthy I was even then.
It wasn't until I became very ill that I found the motivation to improve my diet, and my overall health and fitness. That's because I found inspiration and discovered that
I could lose weight and also heal my body with a proper diet.
Once I realized that following a
living food diet would help me lose weight, feel great physically, and most importantly, help me restore my health, I found my motivation. I hope you do too!
Now fast forward less than one year, and I look like this:
This amazing transformation didn't even take a year. Within 6 months I went from looking like an over-the hill guy rapidly approaching his "golden years" with a massive gut and little energy, to slim, trim, muscular, in incredible shape, able to run laps around guys half my age.
